Without a doubt, 2012 have been one of the best years in the industry of Korean dramas. Viewers had the honor to watch many different, interesting, moving, sad, and funny stories. The production teams, as well as the actors were excellent this year. Viewers were entrained and the goal of bringing the best dramas was accomplished.

And the list goes as follows:

1. A Gentleman's Dignity.

A Gentleman's Dignity was excellent in all areas. The writers did a great job telling us a story about four best friends in their 40s and their love lives. The cast showed excellent acting that had the viewers entertained and there was never a boring scene. Every opening of every episode was something that everyone looked forward to. The ending was what everyone was waiting for, and it didn't disappoint the viewers.

2. Rooftop Prince

Rooftop Prince was a really interesting story of time traveling and love. Its main charm was the fun and hilarious component that those for men delivered to the audience. Its beautiful love story had viewers sighing and smiling the whole time.

3. The King 2 Hearts

This fantasy story of a modern Korea ruled by the Monarchy, was really touching. Lee Seung Gi and Ha Ji Won perfectly played one of the most beautiful romances of the year. They both went against all odds and traps that the main villain had for them and conquered all. It's worth to mention that the main villain was so well played by Yoon Je Moon. It was the perfect combination of a mad men and the Joker. It also portrayed a reality that a lot of Korean would like to see: The unison of North and South Korea.

4. Bridal Mask

This drama that took place in the Korea of the 1930's, tells the story of a popular hero that fought for the independence of Korea from Japan. The drama was emotional, and cruel. It had that thing that makes viewers want to watch the whole drama in one day. Joo Won did an amazing job playing 'Bridal Mask' and 'Lee Kang To/Sato Hiroshi'. More than the romance, the gone-wrong relationship between best friends Lee Kang To and Kimura Sunji, was the main course of the story

5. The Sun that Embraces the Moon

This historical drama that took place in the Joseon Dynasty, is a sorrowful story of Crown Prince and his first love who were separated in their teen years. The child actors did so good that it almost overshadowed the main actors. Viewers were captivated by the sad story of the main couple. Kim So Hyun and Han Ga In were excellent in portraying the King and Yeon Woo/shaman Wol.

6. Faith

Another historical, and time traveling drama starring Lee Minho and Kim Hee Sun. This drama was the comeback platform to both Lee Minho and Kim Hee Sun, and they did a very good job. It was nice to see Choi Young and Yoo Eun Soo fall in love and fight for the kingdom and complications time traveling involves. The special effects and fighting scenes added the touch the drama needed to be one of the best of 2012.

7. Reply 1997

Reply 1997 was everything a fun, exciting and cute drama could be. Viewers were able to see or remember how was the K-pop industry in the late 90's. The love story between Yoon Yoon Hee and Jung Shi Won was so heartbreaking at first but then it got sweeter. The drama had the viewers dying to know who was Shi Won's husband and the dad of her baby. Viewers got what they wanted with a little bit of a twist. Reply 1997 had such a big response from the public and celebrities alike, and it was well deserved.

8. Queen In Hyun's Man

This time traveling drama had the sweetest love story of the year. The romance in the drama was everything a romance lover would like to watch. The difference with this drama was that the main actor could time travel at any time he wanted. He used history to his advantage and accomplished his goals. It had a happy ending, that almost didn't happen.

9. Nice Guy

Nice Guy also known as 'Innocent Guy' had what most K-drama don't have, and that it's speed. In Nice Guy things happened quickly, on time, and this kept things going very smoothy. The main actress was so passionate and strong and she found an equally strong partner. Song Joong Ki and Moon Chae Won's love story was so fierce and cute at the same time. The friendship between Lee Kwang Soo and Song Joong Ki was also very touching.

10. Love Rain

Love Rain was the typical K-drama that starts in the past and moves to the future. The drama was the comeback for Hallyu star Jang Geun Suk and Girl's Generation's Yoona to the small screen. Love Rain had two main love stories that were complicated but touching at the same time.

All in all, 2012 brought laughter, tears, and evoked different emotions to the audience. Dramas were so well made that viewers had a wide range of drama genres to choose from. Hopefully 2013 will also be a good year of amazing K-dramas.
