Lee Min Ho recently reflected on the success of his breakout role of Gu Jun Pyo in the 2009 KBS2 drama “Boys Over Flowers.” On February 2, the Korean outlet News Cookie published an interview where the “Gangnam 1970” star fondly reflected on his past acting roles.

He first appeared on television with a minor role in the 2003 drama “Sharp” where he portrayed an unnamed student. This was followed by several small parts prior to his debut as Park Du Hyun in the 2006 drama “Secret Campus.” He spoke about “Secret Campus” during his interview with News Cookie stating, “I was afraid of going to work when I was making 'Secret Campus.' Everything was intense and scary to me .”

He followed “Secret Campus” with underrated parts in “Mackerel Run” along with small supporting roles in the 2008 films “Public Enemy Returns” and “Our School E.T.” He also acted alongside his “City Hunter” co-star Park Min Young in the school drama “I am Sam” which also starred Yang Dong Geun (YDG) and Big Bang's T.O.P.

While these prior roles helped to him gain more attention, it was his portrayal of Gu Jun Pyo that helped him become a Hallyu star. He spoke fondly about his breakout role, “That drama also threw me out into the world. I was very poor and the drama changed all that.” He went on to say, “I am thankful to 'Boys Over Flowers.'”

The actor is currently promoting his film “Gangnam 1970.” “Gangnam 1970” topped Korean box office sales during its debut weekend. The film is set to make its way to select theaters in North American and Asia, this February.
