Blake Lively news reported how the former "Gossip Girl" star reached out to victims of sex trafficking. According to a report from Us Weekly, the blond stunner has joined a new PBS series entitled "A Path Appears".

In relation to her new advocacy, Blake Lively news reported how she and journalist Nicholas Kristof visited the organization "My Life My Choice." The anti-trafficking group is described as an organization that seeks to prevent the commercial sexual exploitation of adolescents in the United States.

The series is part of Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn's book "A Path Appears: Transforming Lives, Creating Opportunity," which shows celebrities going to different places worldwide in hopes of ending gender inequality.

Blake Lively went to Boston, Massachusetts for her "A Path Appears" leg. Coincidentally, the place was where she and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, started dating back in 2011.

The Hollywood "it girl" shared she was shocked at how sex trafficking is happening right inside the United States.

"I thought of sex trafficking as something that happened elsewhere," the 27-year-old said.

"You can't fathom that this is sort of a prevalent issue, because where are these girls coming from?"

"To see it happening in the United States, it seems sort of impossible," Blake Lively said.

Blake Lively's motivation for her new cause in saving females from exploitation appears to be coming from being a new mom. She recently gave birth to her first child with Ryan Reynolds, a girl, last holiday season.

"The most powerful thing is for women not just to be the beneficiaries of the change, but to be agents of it," she explained as reported by Us Weekly.

"We're not going to save all the children overnight, but these women will raise their children to be more educated, to be more aware. And it breaks the cycle."
