No Co-Stars Have Made Kang Ha Neul's Heart Flutter

Kang Ha Neul says he never falls in love while filming but he's still young.  The 24-year-old actor may not have worked with the right co-star yet. So far, he's worked with Kang So Ra in "Misaeng" and Lim Ji Eun in "The Heirs" but neither of those actresses caused his heart to flutter.

The actor spoke about the possibility of an on-set romance in a Osen interview on February 9. When asked about possibly dating an actress, he made a firm statement of his priorities.

"I have never dated an actress and I have no thoughts of dating one in the future," said Kang Ha Neul.

It's not that the actor dislikes actresses. He has praised his co-stars publicly. His decision has more to do with being realistic about the demands of an actor's life.

"I once heard an artist say that if he were ever to be born again, he would never touch a brush," said Kang. "It's similar to that. I know too well how difficult acting is. If I met an actress and she loved acting as much as I did, she would have to see how difficult it is. And if she did not, she would not have any charms as an actor."

There are actresses that impress him.

"There is an actress I like," he said and then named Jung Yoo Mi.

Since there are two actresses with the same name, the one he likes is the star of "Discovery of Love." She's not the actress currently appearing in the historical drama "Maids."

"I've seen her only once at a press conference for 'Manhole,' the movie she starred in," said Kang Ha Neul.

But he carefully stressed that it was not a crush. He was a fan of her career.

"My hands were shaking the moment I shook her hand, not due to romantic feelings, but because of the thought that I was meeting a senior actor that I respect," he said. "I've liked her since seeing her in the movie 'How To Operate A Polaroid Camera. Her instinct for choosing a production and the tone of her acting are so good. It's similar to what I want to achieve as an actor."

Kang Ha Neul can be seen on the big screen in the film "C'est Si Bon." He used his real-life singing talents to plays the role of the "umchinah" or guy-your-mom-wants-you-to-date medical student Yoon Hyung Joo.
