The highly anticipated Samsung flagship smartphone Galaxy S6 will release a day ahead of the exhibition of mobile devices in Barcelona- the Mobile World Congress 2015- the Korean phone-maker confirmed.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 will arrive just in time after consumers have had a chance to test the iPhone 6, presumably a rival to Samsung Galaxy S5. Samsung's realization that the Galaxy S5 was not a strong competitor against the iPhone 6 made a bid for a more sophisticated smartphone.

Samsung has recently sent invites to its "Unpack" event, hallmarked to release either a Galaxy Note or a Galaxy S. This year it is speculated to be the Galaxy S6.

“Flexible OLED technology has in recent times produced the world's first curved smartphones in the LG G Flex and Samsung Galaxy Round. Both of those phones turned the screen inward, making for a concave shape that both companies have argued is more ergonomic to use, whereas the next Galaxy is going to 'spill' the display over its side edges, applying the advanced technology in a different way," The Verge reported

“Samsung is unlikely to have yet developed production capacity high enough to satiate the entire global market for its next flagship, which is probably why it has a second version of the handset with a more conventional screen as well.”

According to Stuff TV a white stripe going through the middle of its invite could suggest the new flagship phone is curved. On the other hand, there could be two releases with a variant having a curved edge, which leads to the speculation of the release of the Samsung Galaxy Edge, a Galaxy S6 variant with a curve.

Tech watchers noted that Samsung Galaxy S6 is a "powerful and unique handset," The reason is that Samsung purportedly made the Galaxy S6 from scratch to provide consumers with something new and innovative. Another noteworthy feature is its metal casing in contrast to its previous plastic frames.

There is also a strong speculation that Samsung will skip the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and go with the Exynos processor made in-house. This will make Samsung more self-reliant in manufacturing smartphones. Samsung decided to move away from using the Snapdragon 810 after reports of overheating became a problem.

Rumors said that Samsung is planning to introduce new software in the Galaxy S6 to compete with Apple Pay. Samsung will accomplish the feat by unveiling the company's own new mobile payment system.
