Moon Geun Young is considering a new drama role.

The actress, once known as the "nation's little sister" has been offered a role in an upcoming SBS drama titled "Chaebol's Daughter."

Her agency, Namoo Actors, told Newsen on April 7 that she received the role and is considering it.

"We are still cautious of speaking about her possible participation in it," said the Namoo Actors representative.

The role she is considering is that of Jang Yoon Na, a young woman who wants to disguise the fact that she comes from a wealthy family. Although her parents are rich and powerful, she works a part-time job in a food market. She pretends not to be a chaebol's daughter because she wants to meet someone who will love her for herself and not her money.

While her character is searching for true love, she meets a likely candidate from a poor family. But he doesn't much like rich people. Will the relationship continue to work when he finds out that she is not who she says she is? Trust may be a more important part of a successful relationship than having or not having money.

It has been reported that Park Seo Joon has been offered the male lead but there is no word from his agency. Ha Myung Hee, who wrote the divorce drama "One Warm Word" and "Can We Get Married" will write the screenplay. Choi Young Hoon will direct "Chaebol's Daughter."

The drama is expected to air in June.

If Moon does take the role it will be her first appearance on the small screen in two years, Her last drama role was playing Baek Pa Sun, Korea's first female pottery maker in "Goddess of Fire: Jeonji." Her co-stars in that drama were Kim Bum and Lee Sang Yoon. The historical drama averaged 9.2 percent in the ratings.

The "Chaebol's Daughter" role would provide a stark contrast to her role in the 2012 drama "Cheomdamdong Alice" which she co-starred in with Park Shi Hoo. In that drama she played a girl whose financial circumstances drive her to want to marry for money. But she somehow falls for her target chaebol while thinking he is a salaried employee like she is.

Moon Geun Young has appeared in several successful dramas. The actress made her acting debut at age 13 playing a schoolgirl in the Hallyu hit "Autumn in My Heart." Her most popular drama roles included playing a woman painter disguised as a man in "Painter in the Wind," a bitter stepsister in "Cinderella's Sister," and Jang Geun Suk's girlfriend in "Mary Stayed Out All Night."

Moon recently played the role of Lady Hye Gyeong in the 2015 film "The Throne."
