When Lee Pil Moo stands in front of the classroom in "Who Are You - School 2015," he will be the latest in a series of k-drama actors who played teachers. In the new drama he plays Kim Joon Suk, a math teacher who has to deal with serious social issues that are not on the school curriculum.

Lee Pil Mo, who played a news producer in "Pinocchio" and a doctor in "Emergency Couple," is an outspoken fan of teachers and the influence they have on students' lives.

"A student's teenage years are the most important," Lee told the Korean media outlet TV Daily. "It's a sensitive time of growth when they decide their path and teachers are responsible for leading them."

Here are seven other k-drama actors whose onscreen teaching career he can study. They don't always get an A+:

1.     Ji Hyun Woo plays the idealistic teacher Park No A in "Angry Mom." He really wants to make a difference in students' lives but discovers that those in charge of his prestigious school are corrupt and cruel. Let's give him an A for effort so far.

2.     Daniel Choi was jaded about the effect a teacher could have on troubled students when he played a teacher in "School 2013" but Jang Nara showed him how important it was never to give up. He gets a B, which is a bump up from his indifferent C.

3.     Jang Nara never gives up on a student in "School 2013." She not only makes a difference in students' lives but she teaches Daniel Choi to care. Definitely an A.

4.     Kim Soo Hyun is a professor in "You Who Came From The Stars." He is obviously a genius and knowledgeable about his subject, although lacking some emotional involvement. And he is not motivated to give Jun Ji Hyun a passing grade even though she is a Hallyu star. He gets an A+.

5.     Kim Hee Ae was Yoo Ah In's music teacher in "Secret Love Affair." She was an excellent and supportive piano teacher. She did have an affair with her student and even though they were both adults, it created a scandal. So maybe a B.

6.     Lee Chung Ah also winds up dating her student played by Jung Il Woo in "Flower Boy Ramen Shop." But before she did that she knocked him down with a basketball. As a gym teacher she deserved an A+ for her aim and not bowing to the spoiled son of a rich man. On the other hand, hitting and later dating a student is not advised. She had to quit teaching, at least temporarily.

7.     Lee Min Jung is a substitute teacher in "Big." She also dates her student but that's kind of okay because he is living inside her grown-up boyfriend's body. She does get high grades for being kind and supportive of her students.

So, how do you think Lee Pil Mo will do as a teacher? Check the drama out. It starts on April 27.
