iOS 8.4 Beta Now Available for Registered Developers, New Frimware Brings MiniPlayer, Global Search and More

Shortly after the iOS 8.3 was released,  Cupertino tech giant Apple has unveiled iOS 8.4 beta on April 13 to introduce developers to its new features, writes 9To5Mac.

The iOS 8.4 beta for developers was opened through the Apple Developer Center website with an all new Music application. According to the publication, the release notes from Apple include a new MiniPlayer feature, which allows users to control playback while browsing the music collection. 

"The music app has a beautiful new design that makes exploring your music collection easier and more fun. Personalize playlists by adding your own image and description. Enjoy stunning pictures of your favorite artists in the Artists view," it said.

Furthermore, the playlists and albums that the user have recently added are now located at the top of the library, which will make it easier to find a new song to play. Discovering music with iTunes Radio will also reportedly be easier, as the user can quickly return to his or her favorite stations in Recently Added. The Now Playing feature also has a new design with a larger artwork. The user can now play music by using AirPlay without leaving Now Playing.

Users can also see what song from their library is coming next. Music for iOS also has a Global Search option. According to GSM Arena, it allows users to search songs and iTunes Radio stations anywhere with just one tap. Moreover, on the iPhone, the landscape interface has been removed while there is a new split-screen interface on the iPad.

Apple has released an Xcode 6.4 beta with software development kits for OS X versions 10.10 and 10.9 and iOS 8.4, according to Apple Insider. The iOS 8.4 beta is available through Apple's Developer website, including the said Xcode software.
