"Empire" season 2 spoilers revealed that fans will no longer have to wait until 2016 to catch new episodes of the show. The much awaited return of "Empire" is set to premiere this September.

The first season of "Empire" has garnered high ratings since the show premiered ban in the winter of 2014. The show is slated to return with a 22-episode season.

According to "Empire" season 2 spoilers from IB Times, Lucious Lyon will make a comeback in after the first season ended with him in jail. In a voiceover, Lucious states, "You may think you've gotten away with it, don't fool yourself this is only the beginning. The day will come when Lucious Lyon will return. Game time, bi***es." Empire executive producer Ilene Chalken has also stated that Lucious will always be central to the show's plot.

Fans will also wait for what has happened to Jamal and Cookie's relationship. The two notably were the only ones who supported each other in the first season, but the events in the first season finale could have put major strain in their relationship. Jamal was absolutely distraught when he saw Cookie play a part in his father getting sent to prison.

Fans should also await the outcome of the attempted hostile takeover. With Lucious choosing Jamal as his successor and Empire stocks plummeting, drama is more than likely to happen in the Empire boardroom.

Success is not the only thing the show has gathered, as big name stars are also lining up for a feature role on the show. The first season saw the likes of Snoop Dogg, Rita Ora, and Jennifer Hudson guest star on the show. It has now been confirmed that Oprah and Common are set to make guest appearances on the second season of "Empire."
