Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather had showed interest to have a rematch and it might be scheduled in April 2016 as the Filipino fighter underwent surgery on Wednesday.

According to Telegraph, Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum believes that the "Fight of the Century" will have a second showdown.

Bob Arum suggested that Floyd Mayweather should go ahead for a September fight with another fighter and then wait for a rematch with Manny Pacquiao in April 2016 as the MGM plans to open an additional 20,000-seat arena in Las Vegas.

"I think we now know what the pitfalls were and ultimately, with all the aggravation and trouble, look at the pot of gold that we both produced," said Arum.

"I think there will probably be less aggravation in a rematch. We understand each other better now. There's a real possibility if would work even better."

Bob Arum also added that Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather rematch will sell again, he said: "The two of them together created such a bonanza - numbers we've never seen before and without Manny who could Floyd create bonanza like that with?"

Meanwhile, the Filipino fighter Manny Pacquiao underwent an arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder on Wednesday after in Los Angeles, as reported by ESPN.

Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who performed the 90-minute surgery said that Pacquiao will not stay overnight as it was an out-patient surgery.

He estimates that the former eight-division world champion will not be able to fight again for between nine months and a year, but added that if the rehab is successful, Pacquiao will be back with his training in about six months for another fight.

"If all goes as expected with the surgery and the rehab is successful, Manny could be back training in about six months. At that point, he will be regaining strength and endurance and competition is reasonable within nine months to a year," said ElAttrache.

"But this is a severe enough tear that it won't heal without being repaired," he added.
