Asus Zenfone 2 US Launch On May 18; Company Sends Out Invites For The Event

Asus has officially sent out invites for the launch of Zenfone 2 in the US, according to Slash Gear.

The invite stated that Asus latest phone, the Zenfone 2, will launch in the US and it is scheduled on May 18 in Manhattan at 1 p.m. and it is expected the different variants of the device will be launched on the event.

Asus latest smartphone, the Zenfone 2, is not just a single smartphone but has a set of different models.

According to International Business Times, the handset has three models, which include the ZE551ML, which offers 5.5-inch IPS capacitive display with Gorilla Glass 3 and 1080 x 1290 resolution.

Under the hood, the device has 2.3 GHz quad-core Intel Atom processor with 4 GB RAM variant and 1.8 GHz quad-core Intel Atom processor within the 2 GB model. Other specs include 13MP rear camera, microSD card slot of up to 128 GB and 3000 mAh battery.

The second model of Asus Zenfone 2 is the ZE550ML, which has the same screen size, rear camera mega pixel and battery capacity to the first one mention above. However, the device has 720 x 1280 resolution, Intel Atom Z3560 processor clocked at 1.8 GHz with 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB built-in memory and up to 64 GB microSD card slot.

Lastly, the Asus Zenfone 2 ZE500CL has 5-inch IPS display with the same resolution of ZE550ML. It runs on Intel Atom Z2560 processor clocked at 1.6 GHz, 8MP rear camera, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB internal storage and 2,500 mAh battery.

All three models of Zenfone 2 run on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system with connectivity support such as HSPA, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE and microUSB connectivity.

As for the price, GMA News reported that the official suggested retail price of the Zenfone 2 ZE551ML in Indonesia is at Rp4,400,000, which is roughly around $68,739 while the other models are ranging from Rp2,699,000 ($42,155) to Rp3,999,000 ($62,460).
