Hwang Jung Eum has broken up with her longtime boyfriend SG Wannabe singer Kim Yong Joon. According to the Korean media outlet Yonhap News, the couple has officially ended their nine-year relationship.

Both her agency C-JeS Entertainment and his agency, IS Entermedia Group, have confirmed the split.

At a press conference for "Kill Me, Heal Me," Hwang Jung Eum admitted that the couple was fighting and that she was mad at him.

"I was filming, I was busy and I caught a cold, but I wanted to eat something good for dinner, so I asked him to make a reservation. He didn't, so I told him to call it quits. I guess this is what happens after nine years. It's not great. It's time to break up. Seriously."

She made a joke of their fight but things did not get better When the actress finished filming "Kill Me, Heal Me," the couple had a talk and decided to call it quits.

It's not the first time that the couple has broken up. In a 2014 interview the actress explained that breaking up and making up had become part of their relationship.

"We repeat the cycle of breaking up and getting back together," she said. "Even if we do end up breaking up, it doesn't go on for more than a week. If one person doesn't call then the other person ends up calling. It's very strange. We're like family now."

But this time the break-up may be permanent. According to the Yonhap News article, the couple has broken up repeatedly but this time their minds are set.

The couple began dating in 2006 and in 2009 appeared on the second season of the dating reality show "We Got Married." They were the first real-life couple to be featured on the show. Shortly after the show, the actress had a breakthrough role in the sitcom "High Kick Through The Roof."

Hwang has in the past said conflicting things about the couple's chances of getting married. In one interview she said that while she loves Kim and he is family to her, he might not be the best marriage partner for her. In a March 2015 interview Hwang told Asia Today that she planned to marry when she was around 34. Both Hwang and Kim are 30.

"I don't know who it will be. It could be Kim Yong Joon, or someone who is by my side when I'm 34," she said. "But I think I will get married to Kim Yong-joon."

That was two months ago.

The break-up happened around the same time that Park Soo Jin, who previously belonged to the girl group Sugar, with Hwang Jung Eum, announced her wedding plans with Hallyu star Bae Yong Joon. That couple only dated for three months before deciding to marry.
