EXO's Xiu Min is set to make his film debut this year in the movie "Kim Sun Dal."

His agency has confirmed that they are currently in negotiations with the production company.

"Xiu Min has received a casting offer for the movie 'Kim Sun Dal," said a representative from EXO's agency, SM Entertainment. "He is looking over it positively."

The singer made his acting debut earlier this year when he starred in the S.M. Entertainment musical "School Oz," which also featured f(x) member Luna, SHINee's Key, EXO's Su Ho, TVXQ's Max Changmin and Red Velvet's Seul Gi. He also appeared on "Crime Scene 2," playing a ballad singer.

If Xiu Min takes the film role, he will play the younger brother of Kim Sun Dal, a 19th century folk hero. Yoo Seung Ho will play the role of Kim Sun Dal. The story is based on a classic novel, which in turn is based on a well-known folk tale. Xiu Min's character is kindhearted and naïve but he dreams of becoming a con man just like his hero Kim Sun Dal.

That's because Kim Sun Dal is the best kind of con man. Kim Sun Dal is a kind of Robin Hood con man who takes from the rich and helps the poor. He only cons those who can really afford it. For example, he manages to sell exclusive water rights to a rich man who later finds out that he cannot deny anyone else access to his water. He's also good at making people examine how flawed and often ridiculous their logic can be.

The story of Kim Sun Dal has inspired at least one other novel and a previous film.

The film will also star Go Chang Suk and Ra Mi Ran. "Kim Sun Dal" begins filming in June.

Xiu Min is the latest member of EXO to try his hand at acting.

D.O. appeared in the film "Cart" and impressed viewers with his portrayal of Jo In Sung's friendly delusion Han Kang Woo in "It's Okay, That's Love. Park Chan Yeol has a supporting role in the film "Salute D'Amour" with Moon Ga Young and Han Ji Min. Su Ho makes his film debut in the indie film "Glory Day," which stars Ji Soo and Shinhwa's Kim Dong Wan. "Glory Day" starts filming this month. Baek Hyun will star in the action film Dokgo, which also stars Yeo Jin Goo.
