On May 30, rumors began to surface on Sina which highlighted the alleged termination of  f(x) member Victoria (Victoria Song) from SM Entertainment. An article published by TV Report on May 31 examined the rumors. According to the report, SM Entertainment has established a private workshop for the K-pop idol and actress, in China. The purpose for the workshop was to provide support for Song while she engaged in promotional activities in the region.

A representative for SM Entertainment dispelled rumors of her departure from the dance-pop group. "Victoria has never requested to be terminated from the company," said the representative.

SM Entertainment quickly released a press statement intended for Chinese media, to squash the allegations surrounding the 28-year-old vocalist.

According to the article, her arrangement will be similar to the satellite workshop that was recently set up for EXO-M's Lay. "The workshop belongs to SM Entertainment and Victoria will maintain her management contract," said the representative in a statement provided to TV Report.

Victoria is expected to continue her exclusive contract with SM Entertainment, who will continue to support her activities. Fans of the star fiercely reacted to the rumors, following the departures of several Chinese K-pop idols from SM Entertainment. Former EXO-M members Kris and Luhan have left from the company and Tao is currently negotiating with the agency.

In addition to her music career, she is currently starring in the Korean-Chinese co-production, "My New Sassy Girl." She is joined by "Producer" star Cha Tae Hyun, for the film which is a sequel to the 2001 romantic comedy "My Sassy Girl." Cha portrays Gyun Woo, a role he popularized in the original film, which also starred Jun Ji Hyun. Victoria stars as a childhood classmate of Gyun Woo, who is criticized for her broken Korean.
