Actress Oh Yoon Ah, who played Kim Hee Sun's abused former friend Joo Ae Yeon in "Angry Mom," has filed for a divorce from her husband of eight years.

The 34-year-old actress married movie advertising executive Song Joon in January of 2007. Although Oh was quoted as saying she fell in love with her future husband three days after they met, the couple dated for a year and a half before deciding to marry.

Her agency, Polaris Entertainment, told the Korean media outlet Joongang Daily that the divorce was not contentious as the couple was parting by mutual agreement. They have one son, August, born in 2007.

"The two agreed to get divorced due to their personality differences and custody was given to Oh."

The agency hopes that since the couple parted on friendly terms, the public will refrain from further speculation. Oh Yoon Ah continued acting after her marriage with the full support of her husband and plans to continue acting after her divorce.

"Oh will continue working as an actress and her divorce will not have any negative effect on her acting career," said the Polaris representative.

Oh made her debut as a racing model, winning the first Cyber Race Queen Contest in 2000. After that she worked as an entertainment reporter for MBC.

Her first acting role was in the 2004 drama "Into The Storm." Her breakthrough role was playing the heroine's best friend in the comedy "Old Miss Diary." She also appeared in the dramas "That Woman," "Marry Me Please," "Master of Study," 'While You Were Sleeping," and "Alone In Love." She won a Best Supporting Actress award at the 2006 SBS Drama Awards for her "Alone In Love" role. It was also one of her favorite dramas to work in.

Oh is currently working as a model and considering future projects.
