Actress Kang Ye Won Is In A Hurry To Have Children

Actress Kang Ye Won has not wasted any time in explaining her priorities to her new "We Got Married" partner Oh Min Suk. And in the process her straightforward approach managed to shock him.  

The 35-year-old actress, who starred in the film "The Huntresses" with Ha Ji Won and in the drama "Bad Guys" with Park Hae Jin, is so eager to have children that she decided she does not have to be married to become pregnant.

In a preview for the program, the actress expressed her strong desire to start a family soon. She said that since she passed the average age for a first time mom she wanted to settle down right away.

"I have to have children," said Kang Ye Won.

When the actors met at a restaurant on the June 27 episode of "We Got Married," they discussed their thoughts on settling down and starting a family. They started talking about Oh Min Suk's niece and how much he enjoyed spending time with her.

"She's very pretty," said Oh Min Suk, who recently appeared in the dramas "Nine: Nine Time Travels," "God's Gift - 14 Days," "Misaeng," "Kill Me, Heal Me" and "All About My Mom."

When Oh Min Suk spoke about how much he liked his niece, Kang Ye Won said that he must also really want a child. But whether or not he is ready for the responsibilities of parenthood, the next thing she said shocked him. Kang Ye Won said she would not have to be married to become a mom.

"I'd like to get married and have a child at the same time," she said. "I would like to be married after being with child."

And while a few k-celebs such as Jang Dong Gun and Go So Young married while they were already expecting a child, being a single mom is still frowned upon in Korea. It's not the kind of thing prospective in-laws tend to approve of.

When the 33-year-old actor pretended to call his mom and tell her the news about his virtual fiancée, Kang Ye Won realized that her controversial statement might not necessarily endear her to his family.

Will the actress continue to make controversial statements during the run of "We Got Married?" Will it make things difficult for this virtual couple? They do make a very attractive couple and a little controversy can make for entertaining TV.
