According to the July 24 report issued by Nielsen Korea, MBC's "Scholar Who Walks the Night" recorded 7.8 percent of nationwide viewership. This is an increase of 0.1 percent from its ratings recorded for the supernatural romance on July 22.

The sixth episode of "Scholar Who Walks the Night" illustrated increased tensions between the vampire Gwi (Lee Soo Hyuk) and booksellers within the kingdom. Gwi placed greater pressure on officials in the kingdom to locate the legendary tome which contains instructions to destroy him.
