According to the July 30 report from Nielsen Korea, the MBC supernatural period drama "Scholar Who Walks the Night," recorded 7.9 percent in nationwide viewership.  This matched the ratings total for the previous episode, which was a record high for the series.

The seventh episode opened with Kim Seung Yeol (Lee Joon Gi) clinging to life, following a brutal showdown with the vampire, Gwi. Bookseller Jo Yang Sun (Lee Yoo Bi) attempted to nurse Seung Yeol back to health. However, he was saved by the blood laced tears she shed while believing that he was dead.

Gwi (Lee Soo Hyuk) continued to lead a militaristic search for the manuscript which carried instructions to destroy him, while also seeking the student who is replicating the old texts.

Meanwhile, Choi Hye Ryung (Kim So Eun) taunted Seung Yeol with the knowledge that she resembles his departed lover.

The SBS melodrama, "Mask," aired its penultimate episode. "Mask" recorded 11.5 percent in nationwide viewership, as Ji Sook (Soo Ae) was rescued by Choi Min Woo (Joo Ji Hoon).

As the over-the-top series reaches it's end, viewers continue to contemplate the somewhat erratic plot twists. With murder plots and backstabbing, "Mask" provides a non-stop joyride for viewers who enjoy surreal melodramas.

"Mask" concludes on July 31.

Meanwhile, KBS' political series, "Assembly" recorded 5.0 percent.
