"IRIS 2" END: Lee Beom Soo Fails in Completing His Plan

"IRIS 2" Lee Beom Soo is met with death.

The last episode of the KBS drama "IRIS 2" featured Yoo Joong Won (Lee Beom Soo) failing in his attempt to detonate the nuclear bomb.

When Baek San (Kim Young Chul) and Mr. Black (Kim Gap Soo) dies together, the nuclear weapons becomes in possession of Yoo Joong Won. He planned to detonate the nuclear bomb in Seoul in order to signal the start of the war between North Korea and South Korea.

Jung Yoo Gun (Jang Hyuk) and Kim Yeon Hwa (Lim Soo Hyang) team up to stop Yoo Joong Won, while Ji Soo Yeon (Lee Da Hae) and other NSS agents team up for the same mission. Yoo Joong Won goes for the switch to detonate the bomb after saying, "I'm going to create a nation where one is not controlled by the more powerful nation. I'm going to start this war to reunite the two Koreas."

Kim Yeon Hwa says in tears, "If you press the switch, I'm going to die as well. Let's live. Even if it's hard, let's live together. Wake up. What you're doing right now is going to kill countless number of innocent mothers and fathers."

Right then, Yoon Shi Hyuk (Lee Joon) suddenly appears and shoots Yoo Joong Won. Yoo Joong Won falls to the ground. Just before his death, Yoo Joong Won tells Kim Yeon Hwa, "I'm going to go meet mom. Don't be sad" and gives her a jade ring then dies. Kim Yeon Hwa burst out in tears.
