Uhm Jung Hwa Interview, miss A's Bae Suzy Praised as an Actress "Really Good at Acting"

Uhm Jung Hwa stated, "At the beginning of my acting career, there was almost nobody who was working as both a singer and an actor. I tried to make people see me different because there were so many comments like, 'Why is a singer trying to act?' When I appeared on stage as a singer, I purposely wore heavy makeup and wore wigs to create a more dramatic look that would be significantly different from me working as an actress. However, people view that it is very natural for singers to become actors."

She continued, "I think in order for singers to be good at acting is if they are good at expressing things. There are so many singers that are very good at acting. The ability to express emotions is a crucial factor of being good at acting and Suzy seems to be very good at it. Her acting is so natural and impressive. I also like Seo In Guk very much because he is very good at acting."

On stage, Uhm Jung Hwa is a sexy queen while she is a completely different person while working as an actress. In her recent participation in the movie called, "Montage" for example, Uhm Jung Hwa portrays a mother who lost her daughter to a criminal 15 years earlier. She appears as a woman who has no purpose in living after the tragedy that stole her daughter away from her.

Regarding her appearance in the movie "Montage", Uhm Jung Hwa stated, "I was very happy that people reacted very positively. I checked the ticket purchase rate after an interview yesterday and it kept going up every 10 minutes. I clapped my hands from the excitement. Later, I had a few drinks but I didn't get drunk even a little bit probably because I was so happy."

Um Jung Hwa's co-star Kim Sang Kyung stated, "She deserves the award for the best female actress."

Regarding the past three roles as passionate mothers, Uhm Jung Hwa stated, "I didn't choose these roles because of special plans. I chose them because I thought the scenarios are good. After reading through the scenes I worried about whether I will be able to pull this off but I was sold after the director convinced me. I felt that I really had to take on this role."

She continued, "Experience is not necessary to become an actor. It won't be possible for the actors to feel the same about the situation as the actual people who experienced the tragedies, but I put a spell on myself to think that I am faced with the situations. I imagine how it would feel to lose a daughter who meant everything to me. I was heartbroken during the production of the movie. I hope this film will make a positive impact on making harsher laws against those who commit crimes against children."
