Has Seo Taiji's Desire For Secrecy Affected Lee Eun Song's Career?

Lee Eun Song is an actress who has appeared in a few films and dramas but she is best known today for being the fiancée of legendary kpop star, Seo Taiji, formerly of Seo Taiji and the Boys.

When the 90s singer recently announced the name of the woman he planned to marry, many newer kpop and kdrama fans said, "Who?"

The actress, who appeared in six films and five dramas, has not exactly been working a lot lately. She was last seen in the film, "Take Off" in 2009.

"I'm surprised that so many people have shown blessings over the announcement of my marriage, although they must have been shocked by the news," wrote Lee on her online fan café.

The actress met Seo more than three years ago when she appeared in one of his solo music videos. She admitted to being a longtime fan of his.

"I liked his music for a long time but I never thought I would get a chance to meet him in person," said Lee. "While I was on the set of his music video, I saw the way he treated those around him and decided he was a decent guy."

They began dating a year later and now live with his parents in Seoul. The marriage rumors were controversial for several reasons, the first being the age difference. Seo, 41, is 17 years older than Lee.  And then there was the fact that Seo was secretly married, from 1997 to 2006, to actress Lee Ji Ah. Fans did not know anything about their marriage until they decided to divorce. Then the divorce proceedings dragged on for a few years, involving Lee Ji Ah's co-star, Jung Woo Sung in the scandal. The secret marriage between Lee Ji Ah and Seo Taiji was unusual even for a celebrity so concerned about maintaining privacy.

What has Lee Eun Song been doing since she began dating Seo Taiji? Does her removal from the public eye have something to do with how intensely private her fiancée is?
 
"In the meantime, I've studied a lot, traveled a lot. And I started to dream about having a happy family." she wrote. "That's why I'm about to get married."

Lee has no immediate plans to return to acting.

"For a while I want to pay full attention to homemaking but I may see you again if a good opportunity presents itself," she added.

Lee Eun Song appeared in the films, "The Devil's Game" and "Milky Way Liberation Front," as well as the dramas, "I Am Happy," "Que Sera Sera" and "Four Gold Chasers."

But whatever she chooses to do in the future, she may always be remembered as the girl who Seo Taiji married, after the girl he married in secret.
