Being a good actor can occasionally be a bad thing. If you play a villain convincingly enough, the audience may hate your character. They may also hate you.

This has happened to several actors.

Actor Yoon Yeon Suk played a lovable character in "Reply 1994" but he has not always been loved for the roles he plays.

When he filmed "Architecture 101" in 2012, his co-star singer-actress Suzy was a very popular young actress. Viewers decided that they hated the actor because of what they assumed his character did to Suzy's character. In the film he escorts her home when she's drunk but it's not clear what happens after that. Everyone assumed the worst and even his own friends wanted to know what happened.

"I didn't do anything that wrong in 'Architecture 101,' he said. "All I did was take my drunk junior home. I was going to leave the rest up to the audience but they took their imagination too far and I suddenly found myself the public enemy."

He was a bad guy in "Werewolf Boy" and "Hwai."

"While I didn't take on only villainous roles, the movies in which I did performed well, and that is why I think people remember only those," he said. "The responses from women were deadly after the movie 'Introduction to Architecture.'"

Actress Shin Se Kyung knows how he feels. When she played the two-timing character Seo Mi Do in the melodrama "When A Man Loves," netizens expressed a lot of hatred toward her character.

"Why doesn't she just make up her mind," netizens asked and even almost threatened her character, saying, "If she does not make up her mind, I don't know what I will do."

The actress was concerned about the negative comments and took them to heart, but decided it only meant that she was doing a good job and continued to present her character the way the script intended. Her co-star Song Seung Hoon was very supportive.

"I know its part of acting in a drama but that kind of negativity can drain you," said Song. "However, Shin Se Kyung acted as if she didn't care. I don't know how she felt on the inside but she would go around saying that she was fine. I am proud of her."

Kim Tae Hee may be considered one of the most beautiful women in the world. But she has also earned the odd distinction of being the most disliked celebrity in North Korea. Are the citizens there jealous of her relationship with singer-actor Rain? Do they hate her politics? Maybe. But they really dislike her because of her role in the 2003 drama "Stairway to Heaven." She played a not so likable woman and smuggled copies of the DVD made the drama very popular there.
