The Howard Stern Show

"Girls" star Lena Dunham recently guest starred on "The Howard Stern Show" where she talked about her struggles against OCD and her new memoir, "Not That Kind of Girl."

Talking about OCD, Dunham said, "Everything about it is uncomfortable. We had guests at my parents house once, and I decided I had to go in to the room and stare at each of their tooth brushes until I remembered exactly what both of them looked like, and if I thought I didn't remember what both of them looked like, I had to go back in because, what if later there was a situation where I had to remember what their tooth brushes looked like?"

OCD, according to the star is somewhat crippling, Empty Lighthouse reported.

"You're completely aware of how absurd you're being in the moment. There's none of the comforts of psychosis," she explained.

Dunham also dropped a few lines from her latest memoir "Not That Kind of Girl" that may be insightful to thousands of people.

In reference to the person she lost her virginity to when she much younger, Dunham said, "I said she looked like a middle-aged lesbian."

Prior to her appearance, the show's official Twitter account shared a photo of Dunham with her boyfriend and wrote, "Now on #Howard 100 it's @lenadunham (pictured w/boyfriend @jackantonoff."

Meanwhile, "Not That Kind of Girl" is getting rave reviews right now and Dunham has confirmed she will be hosting a book tour, the Boston Herald reported.

On Tuesday night, Dunham appeared in front of hundreds of fans at the Barnes & Noble in Manhattan's Union Square.

The actress read three sections from her book after she was introduced by comedian Amy Schumer, who will also join her on her upcoming tour.
