Clara May Lose Endorsements Due To Alleged Dispute With Polaris Entertainment
On January 26, Korean outlet Donga.com published a report from an unnamed source regarding the possibility of endorsement contract withdrawals from Clara. The report, which was also published through Naver, included quotes from a source who was allegedly employed by one of the companies who currently contracts Clara as a spokesperson.
The English language outlet Soompi translated the quotes from Donga.com. According to this unnamed source, their employer was in the process of reviewing Clara’s promotional contracts and activities. The unnamed source stated, “Right now, all product promotions by Clara have been suspended.” The unnamed source went on to say, “Although the term of her contract hasn't expired, we are considering terminating the endorsement contract as well as taking legal action regarding her liability.”
The report on Donga.com includes quotes from another unnamed source, who supposedly is employed by another endorsement company. This source stated,”Internally, we are examining the grounds of her liability as a spokesmodel.”
In December 2014, Clara allegedly filed a lawsuit against Polaris Entertainment, supposedly to terminate the company’s rights to exclusive management. In her alleged lawsuit, Clara cited sexual harassment as one of the contributing factors for her desire to cut ties with Polaris Entertainment.
As a result of her alleged lawsuit, Clara has come under fire from netizens who claimed that the actress issued false claims against the CEO of Polaris. Netizens have also expressed their displeasure at Clara’s absence from the funerals of Ladies’ Code members EunB and RiSe, who were also represented by Polaris Entertainment.
The on-going dispute has resulted in mudslinging from both sides, including the release of full text message conversations allegedly exchanged between Clara and representatives from Polaris Entertainment.
In 2014, Clara captured the attention of audiences for her portrayal of Han Ah Reum in "Emergency Couple." She leads the cast of the 2015 film "Casa Amor: Exclusive for Ladies" which was also marketed under the title "Working Girl."
