Capcom is reportedly developing the "Resident Evil 2 HD Remake" and its release date is allegedly going to be on Q4 2016.

Michael Harradence of PSU.com has reported that the "Resident Evil 2 HD Remake" is reportedly on its way following the success of the recently released "Resident Evil HD Remake."

"Capcom is reportedly considering revamping Resident Evil 2 following the success of its high-definition re-release of the GameCube Resident Evil remake" as noted on the report.

The report by PSU also states that the "Resident Evil 2 HD Remake" is reportedly going to be on Q4 2016 and its development would start after Capcom is done with "Resident Evil Revelations 2."

"...development of a Resident Evil 2 remake could start as soon as work on Resident Evil: Revelations 2 wraps, with a release date falling somewhere in Q4 2016" as was said on the report.

Meanwhile, Game Informer speculated that with the success of the "Resident Evil HD Remake", will Capcom make future "Resident Evil" games follow the classic gameplay style similar to "Resident Evil HD Remaster?"

"Capcom seems surprised by Resident Evil HD Remake's impressive reception. It makes me wonder if the next core entry in the Resident Evil series will feel more like classic Resident Evil. It's pretty clear players like it. At the very least, it seems like Resident Evil 2 could get the remake treatment because of this - something fans have been clamoring for for some time."

It should be noted that Capcom recently confirmed on the official "Resident Evil' YouTube page that the game has become Capcom's fastest selling digital title in history across North America and Europe:

"We're pleased to confirm that the recently released Resident Evil has become Capcom's fastest selling digital title in history across North America and Europe. The title which launched on January 20th has also broken the record for the biggest selling day one digital title on the PlayStation Network" says Capcom.
