Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak have signed on a $7.5 million contract under Penguin Random House to write a book together. After finishing her second book, "Why Not Me?" to be released in September, "The Mindy Project" star is back in her writing table, but this time with her ex-boyfriend as a writing partner.
Speaking at the BookCon held last Saturday, Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak revealed a few details about their upcoming collaboration. "The Office" co-stars said that they are both excited about the project, however, it would not be out for a quite some time.
"It's very early in the creative process," Novak said.
Kaling added that the book is definitely something that fans should not dare miss.
"It's going to be awesome," she said. "We just started working on it. I love working with him ... and the ideas that we've had so far have been super exciting."
"The Mindy Project" star recently took to Twitter to explain rumors that the book is going to be a tell-all with her relationship with B.J. Novak.
"Thanks for asking about the book @bjnovak & I are working on! It's not a tell-all, sadly. I can say it's going to be really funny and cool."
"I swear I'm not trying to be mysterious! We are just starting work on it," she added.
In a recent interview with Instyle magazine, Mindy Kaling described her relationship with ex-boyfriend BJ Novak "weird as hell."
"He is not my boyfriend, but he is not my best friend. I guess you could describe out relationship as a 'romantically charged camaraderie with loud argument,' but I don't think Facebook would accept this as a new status."
Despite their romantic relationship not working out, Mindy and BJ have always friendly towards each other. As previously reported, Mindy Kaling admitted that it was B.J. Novak who called off the relationship. The break-up was especially heartbreaking especially since she would have said "yes" if her "The Office" co-star would have proposed.
