Kwon Sang Woo Feels Like He Is Still On His Honeymoon

BY Julie Jones

In an interview for the Korean media outlet My Daily, Kwon Sang Woo spoke about his role in the comedy thriller "Private Detective" but the actor also had plenty of kind words to say about his wife, actress Son Tae Young.

As a father of two he said it was easy to play a married detective.

"If I filmed this movie before I got married it wouldn't have been as much fun. Knowing what it was like to take care of a child made it more fun for me to act as a father and it was almost like reality. I like the movie because you can see the 'father' in me and I think my wife will enjoy it too."

Kwon and Song married in 2008. The next year they had their first child, a son. This year, they had their second child, a daughter. Both the marriage and their careers seem to be going strong.

"I think I am a good husband and father," said Kwon. "My wife doesn't let me go into the kitchen but I still try to help with the dishes if I can."

In the film Kwon has to massage the shoulders of his onscreen wife, played by Seo Young Hee. Does he do that for his real-life wife?

"Of course I do. I do my best," he said.

The actor also said that he feels as if he and Son Tae Young are still on their honeymoon. When asked to rate her he said he had more points to give her than he can ever express.

"I can give her 200 out of 100 points."

In "The Accidental Detective" he plays Kang Dae Man, a comic book café owner and blogger who is obsessed with mysteries. Kang wants to become a policeman but can't quite pass the physical. Since he can't officially join the force, he decides to help them out by offering some unwanted advice. Things get personal when a friend is accused of murder and Kang Dae Man thinks he has been framed.

But playing a dad was the best part of the film for him.

Kwon Sang Woo's most recent drama was "Temptation" with Choi Ji Woo and Park Ha Sun. He also appeared in the film "Chinese Zodiac." He was recently cast in the mystery film "The Detective." In that film he will play a library owner obsessed with mystery fiction.

Former Miss Korea contestant Son Tae Young appeared in the weekend drama "You're The Best Lee Soon Shin" and the docudrama "Into The Flames." She had a role in the 2014 Chinese romantic comedy film "Love War" and hosted "Son Tae Young's W Show."
