Angelina Jolie Gets Defensive About Brad Pitt Divorce Rumors? 'We’re Actually Very, Very Stable'

Amid rumors that their marriage is in trouble, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been working together closely these past couple of days for the promotion of their new movie, "By The Sea," which the "Salt" actress also directed.

"The much anticipated Pitt-Jolie film is about a very dysfunctional couple who have drifted apart over the years," Celeb Dirty Laundry wrote.

"The husband is a writer and the wife is a dancer who live in 1970's France. Don't forget that Angelina Jolie wrote the film but she denies writing about her own relationship."

It has earlier been rumored that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's alleged marital troubles surfaced while making the film.

In a previous interview with Directors Guild of America in August, the mother of six previously opened up about directing her husband in the movie.

"I'd be directing myself and him in a scene where we're having a fight, and I'd be pulling out the parts [of him] that have an aggression toward me or when you're frustrated with each other-it was very heavy," Angelina Jolie previously said about her upcoming film with Brad Pitt.

"We kept joking that all of the crew felt like they were living in a house where the parents were fighting and you don't know where to stand or where to look."

Amid speculations that "By The Sea" is somewhat a story of their marriage, Angelina clarified that the script is actually not very close to home.

"I'm counting on the audience to know that if it was close to us at all, we could never make this film," the actress said in an interview with Tom Brokaw for "Today," as quoted by Access Hollywood.

"It's because we're actually very, very stable and these aren't our issues."

Though critics speculate that Angelina might have been a tad too defensive about her and her husband's alleged marital troubles, some Hollywood watchers believe that the couple is in a good place especially since there are rumors that they're planning to further expand their family by adopting a Syrian boy.
