"Answer Me 1994" started its first episode with the stories of crazed basketball fans who had just come up to Seoul from the countryside.

The tvN Friday/Saturday cable drama "Answer Me 1994" (Script Lee Woo Jung Director Shin Won Ho) broadcast on October 18th featured the story of Sung Na Jung (played by Go Ah Ra) who had come up from Ma San and was running a communal house and the story of the tenants who lived inside.

On this day, Na Jung followed around basketball players with her friend.  She was a crazed fan watching Yonsei University practice basketball games and waited from them in front of their dorms.

Na Jung's brother Garbage (played by Jung Woo) is always bickering with Na Jung.  The two make fun of each others' looks and play around with their underwear.

At the same time, San Chun Po (played by Kim Sung Gyun) had come up alone from the countryside and had to find Na Jung's communal house. Not knowing his way around Seoul, Chun Po had a tough time using the subway as well.

Chun Po did not know how to change subway lanes or put in his ticket, so his trip to the communal house was delayed.  Even the cab driver in Sinchon who had noticed that he had come up from the countryside gave him a "scenic tour" and delayd him further.

Lee Il Wha (played by Lee Il Wha), the owner of the communal house, was worried about Sam Po because he was nowhere to be found.  In the end, Chun Po waited at a police station after getting off near the communal house and Sung Dong Il (played by Sung Dong Il) took him home as they finally went home.

"Answer Me 1994" is the sequel to "Answer Me 1997" that was a hit last summer bringing the Eung Chul syndrome.  Producer Shin Won Ho and Writer Lee Woo Jung collaborated together to shed light on the 1990s again.

On this first episode, unique characters brought to life 1994 and spoke familiar phrases.  It'll be interesting to see whether the new "Answer Me 1994" with new characters will bring as much of a phenomenon as "Answer Me 1997."
