Lee Byung Hun Is The First Korean Actor To Present At The Academy Awards

Lee Byung Hun will present an award at the Academy Awards in Hollywood. He will be the first Korean actor to do so.

But then Lee is also considered a Hollywood star now, having starred in several Hollywood films. He had his American debut in the 2009 film "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" in 2009, then appeared in the sequel "G.I. Joe: The Retaliation" in 2013. The same year he appeared in "Red 2." In 2015 he appeared in the latest installment of the Terminator series, "Terminator: Genysis."

On February 6, he can also be seen in the film "Misconduct," previously known as "Beyond Deceit," which co-stars Anthony Hopkins, Al Pacino and Josh Duhamel. And he's working on a new film, a remake of the classic Western, "The Magnificent Seven."

Between appearing in these Hollywood productions, the 45-year-old actor also kept up his film career in Korea. He appeared in "Memories of the Sword" with Jeon Do Yeon and Kim Go Eun. He also stars in the box office hit "Inside Men" with Jo Seung Woo. And this year he will appear in two k-movies. He's set to star with Kang Dong Won and Kim Woo Bin in "Master" and will co-star with Gong Hyo Jin in "Single Rider."

His agency, BH Entertainment, told the Korean news outlet Yonhap News, that Lee does not yet know which award he will be presenting. The 88th Academy Awards ceremony will take place on February 28.
