‘Answer Me 1994’ 5% in Only Two Episodes
Cable channel tvN "Answer Me 1994" is showing signs of a great hit.
According to Neilsen Korea, a ratings company, the 4th episode of "Answer Me 1994" rated 4.2% in ratings which is first in all cable, satellite, and IPTV broadcasting.
Especially compared to the fact that "Answer Me 1997"'s top ratings were 5% at the 8 week mark, this is a fast increase.
"Answer Me 1994" started a new trend of a Friday/Saturday drama instead of a Saturday/Sunday drama and brings a moving storyline across generation and has competitive contents to change viewers "lifestyle watch."
Moreover, in addition to adding a Saturday drama, the staff also brought the broadcast time to 8:40PM and targeted weekend dramas in the right way. "Answer Me 1994" 'Lies' starts with Sung Na Jung (played by Go Ah Ra) and her search for a husband. At the end of this episode, Sung Na Jung says that her husband is "Kim Jae Joon" but it's difficult to tell who Kim Jae Joon is. This is only a nickname and not a true name of any of the five people. This husband-searching is a hidden card that is different from "Answer Me 1997".
The drama goes back and forth between 2013 and 1994 and on this 4th episode, 1994 was the backdrop as the evidence built up to the question, "Who is Kim Jae Joon." There is a package delivered to Garbage and it was revealed that his last name was Kim, and as Sam Chun Po told his name to Sung Dong Il, his last name was also Kim. Moreover, Bing Geu Rae called Chil Bong "joon" as it was clear there was a "Joon" in his name.
