Facts about the new Netflix Korean Drama “My Holo Love”

We all know that love triangles are usually complicated enough but what do you think will happen if it is mixed up with an Artificial Intelligence (AI)? This is the story behind the new Netflix Korean drama titled "My Holo Love".  The story of this drama is described as "a heartwarming love story of the loneliest people in today's society". Actors Yoon Hyun-min and Ko Sung-hee will be the lead cast in this drama also to be joined by stars Choi Yeo-jin and Hwang Chan-seong.

 ·         The storyline of  "My Holo Love"

There is a lonely woman who isolates herself from other people because she is suffering from face blindness.  One day as destiny is by her side, it sends her someone whom she can finally be able to recognize but the downside is he may be always there to help and support her but she is not able to touch his hands.

There is a person who has a great intelligence that enables him to do anything. He created an AI-powered hologram and named him, 'Holo'. It is capable of preventing any danger, has limitless intelligence, and he is very kind. This AI is a perfect creation who shows up and makes So-yeon smile anytime, anywhere she needs him. But as being stated earlier, there is one thing that 'Holo' can not be able to and that is he is unable to hold her in his arms.

 The man who created 'Holo' named Nan-do moves in next door to So-yeon. He is a person who is opposite to his creation 'Holo'. Nan-do watches Holo which was created in his exact likeness and the beta tester of Holo who happens to be So-yeon. Then one day, Nan-do who was living like a ghost escaping the memories of his past decided to to go back out into the real world. Eventually, these three characters paths are so suddenly entangled have one thing in common: they are all lonely and imperfect.

 The story of "My Holo Love" starts with So-yeon's isolated daily routine she is always keeping herself distant from the world. The story then continues with the entrance of Holo who gradually realizes his limitations through his interactions with So-yeon. And eventually Nan-do the creator of Holo is starting to develop new feelings through the two. This drama is an interesting, breathtaking and emotional image of the three people that each of them conquering their insecurities and loneliness eventually learns to grow together.

 ·         How the idea for "My Holo Love" took place

 "My Holo Love" idea came to mind during a conversation between director Lee and writer Ryu after watching the movie "Her;. This story revolves around an AI's ability to learn and adapt. After a few months, Ryu made a very unique story about a hologram called Holo.

 Director Lee shared that a few years back in a small bar he was having a conversation with writer Ryu Yong-jae about the film 'Her'. But on that time he was still too occupied with another project that he forgot about their conversation until several months later when writer Ryu showed up with his story about Holo. While reading the script he immediately thought that this is it. He then knew that he wanted to tell the story. It mainly has something to do with the fundamental question about the role of technology: That it is Beyond simply making human lives more easy and convenient, what will technology really bring to our seemingly glamorous but alienated lives, and to our fertile yet desolate minds? It was a fascinating story that had to be shared to call our collective attention to the topic.

 The scheduled release date of this drama is February 7, 2020 on Netflix.
