"Rugal" Recap: Gi Beum in Pursuit to Kill Chief Choi + AI Eyes Control Him

Gi Beum's wife died after they rescued her from Deuk Goo. She felt guilty and feared what would happen to Gi Beum after they met. Yeo Jin ran towards the moving car and killed herself. 

With his AI eyes, Gi Beum collated all the information about Deuk Goo and the events from the past. He was convinced that Chief Choi is responsible for Yeo Jin's fate. He took a gun and set his mind to kill Chief Choi.

Gi Beum and Chief Choi came face to face in the meeting room. He pointed his gun as he confronted Chief Choi of what he did to his wife and how he comes to be a part of Rugal. Tae Woong stood in front of Chief Choi and asked Gi Beum to put down the gun. Gi Beum shot Chief Choi, but Tae Woong shielded Choi using his steel arm. Gwang Cheol helped to stop Gi Beum from killing Choi.

As Tae Woong prevented Gi Beum's from coming to his senses, Gwang Cheol lead Chief Choi outside the meeting room. Gi Beum went out and felt deep pain from his brain caused by his AI eyes. 

Chief Choi told the story to the Rugal team of what happened in the past and how he came to choose Gi Beum as part of the team. The Rugal team is now torn between protecting Chief Choi and helping Gi Beum in his revenge for the death of Yeo Jin. 

Mi Na confronted Tae Woong and Gwang Cheol about her decisions in siding with Gi Beum. She understood and felt Gi Beum's disappointment, being used as a human weapon for Rugal's benefit. Tae Woong planned to look for Deuk Goo and capture him before Gi Beum does. 

Gi Beum visited Yeo Jin's apartment when she was still alive. He confirmed that she was alive for the longest time and kept their picture as her memory as a couple. His AI eyes showed him the story that transpired between Chief Choi and Yeo Jin when she was in the hospital. It added to Gi Beum's hatred of how Choi decided to keep everything in secret.

Ye Won is now held hostage by Mi Joo's men. She and Argos member Choi Yong planned to kill her. Deuk Goo got away from Tae Woong and clouded his mind about his sister's death. Tae Woong dismissed Deuk Goo's stories and continued to search for Gi Beum.

Gi Beum returned to HQ to find a file about Deuk Goo that was kept under Chief Choi's computer. He found out that Deuk Goo became a subject before, but it did not push through. He waited for Choi and stayed at HQ. When they met at the entrance, Gi Beum grabbed Choi outside the building. He hit him several times, but Gwang Cheol and Tae Woong came to rescue him.

Gi Beum was out to avenge and kill Detective Yang. Mi Na warned him to stop as she shots the gun. She pleaded Gi Beum to stop killing the people around him. Gi Beum showed mercy as Mi Na cried and plea. 

His AI eyes controlled his mind and brain waves. Then, it paralyzed him. It commanded him who to kill attack. Gi Beum realized that he needed to eliminate it before it led him to kill the Rugal team. 

Gi Beum contacted Tae Woong and fought with him. Using Tae Woong's steel arm and the right hit to the back of his neck, Gi Beum got hit at the exact area where the AI eye connector is placed. He falls to the ground as Tae Woong tried to hold him. Gi Beum took the chip and went unconscious.
