2PM's Taecyeon Confirmed to Star in New Drama + Song Joong Ki and Jeon Yeo Bin Are in Discussions
2PM's Taecyeon is making this year as productive just like his heart is. After he concluded his drama, "The Game: Towards Zero," this year, the idol-actor has already confirmed to cast in an upcoming tvN series.
According to Taecyeon's management agency, the singer-actor will be one of the cast members in the upcoming tvN drama "Vincenzo." 51K also confirmed the news to the public. They also added a detail that the singer will be playing the character of Jang Jun Woo.
Jang Jun Woo is a good looking and intelligent man. He works as an intern at a legal firm. He studies well and works hard. He is also diligent and comes from a middle-class family. Jang Jun Woo, with his innocent and kindness, gets in trouble at work after he gets mistaken at the office.
Meanwhile, Taecyeon exemplary military service performance landed him an award. He received recognition as a "Model Soldier" by the Ministry of National Defense. To add, the idol has a fruitful love life, as his agency confirmed last month that he is happily dating a non-celebrity. With another drama in the making, "Captain Korea," is his online nickname because he seems unstoppable.
Song Joong Ki and Jeon Yeo Bin in "Vincenzo"
The drama series "Vincenzo" revolves around the life of Italian lawyer and Mafia consigliere Vincenzo Cassano. He's a Korean who was adopted by an Italian family at a young age - his Korean name is Park Joo Hyung.
His life changes when Vincenzo Cassano returns to Korea, and he meets and falls in love with female lawyer Hong Cha Young. The actor Song Joong Ki made headlines about the new drama as he was rumored to play the leading role. However, nothing has been confirmed yet.
After his recent magazine interview, he is currently busy with his promotional activities for his new film "Space Sweepers." The film is set in the year 2092 with a space junk collector ship called "The Victory." The movie was supposed to be released this summer but it was moved to the last quarter of 2020 due to the pandemic.
On the other hand, the actress Jeon Yeo Bin is considering to play the character as lawyer Hong Cha Young. Though no confirmation has been made on the part of the actress, the role was reportedly offered to the her alongside with Song Joong Ki.
This will be the actress's first lead drama which will be possibly released early next year. The last drama series Jeon Yeo Bin appeared in was "Be Melodramatic" in 2019. She also joined the cast of the film "Secret Zoo" which was shown in theaters last January.
The tvN drama series "Vicenzo" will be directed by Kim Hee-Won of "Money Flower" and "The Crowned Clown." It is also written by Park Jae Bum who created the story of "Good Manager" and "The Fiery Priest."
