"Imitation" has dropped a new teaser and it certainly drums up anticipation for the show. Not only does the promo features some of the struggles the characters had to go through to become an idol (fake it till they make it!), it also shows clearly the chemistry between Jung Ji So and Lee Jun Young's characters.

'Imitation' Trailer Reveals Characters Struggling to Become Idols

South Korea's idols do not reach their places in the limelight and garner millions of fans just because they have the talent to sing, dance, and entertain. Sheer talent does not cut it, they have to work through so many challenges just to become idols, and "Imitation," while a fictional series, shows just that.

The newest "Imitation" series shows some of the vulnerable moments that the aspiring idols experience when they are alone, and how they cope with the pressures of reaching their dreams.

It can be recalled that the plot of the drama will center around three fictional idol groups, called Tea Party, SHAX, and Sparkling. Lee Ma Ha, Jung Ji So's character, will be part of the Tea Party. On the other hand, Lee Jun Young's character, Kwon Ryuk will be part of SHAX.

At the start of the teaser, fans are treated to the idea that SHAX members are the ones already enjoying great success. The teaser opens to them coming together and walking toward the stage as their fans scream and roar around them.

The teaser then goes to Lee Ma-Ha and how her quest to become an idol is far behind that of those in the SHAX's group. She is shown to be struggling in the practice room, even crying. Then fans can hear her voice narrating how rare it is for someone like her to be in her position, yet so hard at the same time.

"A mere 0.1 percent. I'm going all-in with the time given to me to become the star of that 0.1 percent," she can be heard saying.

Fans would show how even though she and SHim Hyun Ji, played by Lim Nayoung and Yoo Ri, played by Minseo, were able to form the Tea Party group, their struggles are far from over. Instead, they were only starting to get worse. The narration warns, "If you can't release a hit track by your third year, this time will be your last."

Lee Jun Young And Jung Ji So's Secret Romance

What's a K-drama without some complicated love story though? Like other dramas, "Imitation" has lots of this, starting with Lee Jun Young and Jung Ji So's secret romance.

Coming from two separate groups and being part of the grueling entertainment scene in Korea meant having a love life is out of the question. But who can stop hearts from beating for another, anyway?

The teaser says so as much. In response to a question about whether or not dating is banned, Ji Hak (played by g.o.d's Danny Ahn) responded that no one can really be stopped even if they are warned not to fall in love.

Then the teaser would show, Lee Yoo Jin talking discreetly to Lee Ma Ha, and inviting her to call him anytime she needs to let something out instead of holding this in. This naturally hints that the two are going to fall in love, albeit secretly.

More can be surmised from the teaser, the entirety of which can be found below.
