Broadcast networks continue to surprise the viewers with a wide array of K-drama genres, varying from an anti-hero, fantasy to all time favorite feel-good series.

As we reach the second half of the year, several highly anticipated dramas and movies featuring powerhouse cast are about to make a debut this August.

With that being said, here's the rundown of upcoming K-dramas and new episodes airing from August 1 to 7.

Upcoming K-Drama: 'The Road: Tragedy of One'

Led by Ji Jin Hee, Yoon Se Ah, and Kim Hye Eun, "The Road: Tragedy of One" is tvN's newest mystery thriller drama.

Based on the novel "One Tragedy," penned by Japanese writer Norizuki Rintaro, it follows the story and secrets of the personalities living in the high society estate of "Royal the Hill."

It is said that only one percent of Korea's population lived in the affluent residential complex.

The "Undercover" star took on the role of the beloved anchorman Baek Soo Hyun who is married to Seo Eun Soo, the daughter of Jegang Group's chairman.

Amid their almost perfect life lies a secret during one fateful incident that would change their lives forever.

"The Road: Tragedy of One" release date is initially scheduled to premiere on July 21, but tvN previously announced that the official debut of the upcoming drama is set on August 4, airing every Wednesday and Thursday.

After one week hiatus due to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the 99ers and the beloved staff of Yulje Medical Center are back to give the viewers another round of heartwarming scenes.

In the latest teaser, tvN unveils a glimpse of "Hospital Playlist 2" episode 7. Based on the trailer, the upcoming episode will focus on the challenges that the interns, residents, and fellows are about to face.

Of course, every episode of the hit medical K-drama showcases the growth of relationships between the Lee Ik Jun (Jo Jung Suk) and Chae Song Hwa (Jeon Mi Do,) the Wintergarden couple, and the #friendshipgoals of Ju Jong Su (Kim Gab Soo) and Jung Ro Sa (Kim Hae Sook.)

"Hospital Playlist 2" airs every Thursday and can be watched through tvN and Netflix.

New Episodes: 'Penthouse 3'

The top rating revenge drama "Penthouse 3" surprised the viewers with shocking revelations and scenes between the characters of Lee Ji Ah, Park Eun Seok, Han Ji Hyun, and Uhm Ki Joon.

Interestingly, for this week's episode, SBS drops a sneak peek for "Penthouse 3" episode 9, suggesting the ultimate revenge of Shim Su Ryeon and Logan Lee.

The latest teaser also illustrates the character development of Joo Seok Kyung, who is attempting to get back at her father, Joo Dan Tae.

Starring Song Kang and Han So Hee, the webtoon-based drama gains the public's attention due to the intense visuals and scenes by the main characters, Park Jae Eon and Yu Na Bi.

As the drama reached the half of the season, "Nevertheless" not only focuses on the confusing relationship of the two but also their past as well as the supporting characters like Oh Bit Na and Nam Kyu Hyun, played by Yang Hye Ji and Kim Min Gwi.

Luckily, the drama was not affected by the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. With this, "Nevertheless" episode 8 remains on its schedule on August 8 and can be watched through JTBC and Netflix.
