Family Guy’s Brian Griffin Still Alive? Petition Gets Stronger for Show’s Producers to Bring Brian Back (Photo/Video)

The number of fans clamoring for Brian’s return continues to grow as they launch “Bring Back Brian” petition.

More than 80,000 fans have already signed up for the online petition aimed at bringing Brian back. The intelligent dog was killed off in Sunday’s episode of the Fox show but fans were not ready to let him go just yet.

Brian got killed in a car accident when he was trying to cross the street to meet his friend, Stewie, who tried and failed to revive him after the incident.

Initiated by change.org, the online petition pointed out that the “Family Guy’s” writers and producers have “killed an American dog.”

According to Independent UK, the online petition states, "The writers of Family Guy didn't just kill off one of their creations, they killed off the dog who has lived in our homes for the last 15 years. They killed the dog we all have come to love. They killed America's dog!"

The online petition added the news Web site recognized the element of wit and sophistication brought by Brian on the television hit show. Fans claim that Brian has been "an important part of our viewing experience,” noted the petition.

Some viewers even threatened to boycott the Fox show.

"Family Guy and Fox Broadcasting will lose viewers if Brian Griffiin is not brought back," a fan, Aaron Thompson was quoted as saying by The Independent.

Producers are confident that the fans will soon get used to the idea of not seeing Brian on the tube.

"Our fans are smart enough and have been loyal to our show for long enough to know that they can trust us," said one of the show’s officials, according to The Independent UK. "We always make choices that work to the greatest benefit of the series."

Brian is a “smart and intelligent” dog, who not only can express himself with astounding wit. Brian captured the hearts of America and he appeared in over 200 episodes of the show since he was created in 1999.
