After Netflix dropped the teaser for "Squid Game" season 2, the streaming giant announced that the blockbuster series will be made into a reality show. 

While viewers are looking forward to watching the ​​dystopian Korean drama series, Netflix will be launching a real-life competition called "Squid Game: The Challenge."

'Squid Game: The Challenge' To Give Away the Largest Cash Prize in History of Reality Show

According to Deadline, the upcoming competition will be a ten-part series with 456 English-speaking contestants from various parts of the world competing for a whopping cash prize of $4.56 million. 

Per the outlet, it is the largest cash prize in the history of reality shows. 

While "Squid Game" featured terrifying games with the majority of the players ending up dead, "Squid Game: The Challenge" will only be inspired by the Korean series' children's games, showcasing a 10-course round with some new ones. 

The contestants' strategies, alliances, and character are said to be put to the test while they are being eliminated one by one. 

In addition, Netflix announced that casting for "Squid Game: The Challenge" is now underway.

In a separate report, Netflix's senior vice president Brandon Riegg expressed how impressed he is with Hwang Dong Hyuk's creation. 

"The fascinating story and symbolic imagery of director Hwang Dong Hyuk's 'Squid Game' wowed the entire world. We will be transforming this fictional world into reality," he said, as obtained by an outlet

Moreover, the Netflix official hints about the upcoming "Squid Game: The Challenge," noting that it will be the "biggest competition ever" that "will be filled with nerves and twists and 456 real competitors will set off on his journey."

Lastly, he hoped that viewers and fans of the Korean series would "join this fascinating and unpredictable journey."

To recall, "Squid Game" season 1 featured six courses based on a popular traditional children's game. It includes Green Light, Red Light featuring the massive doll named Young-hee.

Other games featured are Sugar Honeycombs, the good old Tug-of-War, Marble game, Glass Stepping Stone, and lastly, a real-life street game played by children in South Korea, called Squid Game.

The news regarding the reality show comes after Netflix dropped updates regarding "Squid Game" season 2.

Finally, the biggest Netflix show ever gets the green light as the streaming giant unveils a teaser for the highly anticipated sequel. 

Over its official Instagram, "Squid Game 2" will welcome Young-hee's boyfriend as the new villain. 

The sequel of the Korean series will also showcase old and new characters. Netflix announced that Lee Jung Jae, who plays Seong Gi Hoon, Lee Byung Hoon as The Frontman, and the mysterious agent portrayed by Gong Yoo will return in "Squid Game 2."
