The tension between the characters begins to arise as Kim Dong Gu's case gets reopened.

Oh Soo Jae dug into Jeon Na Jung's (Hwang Ji Ah) case again, conveying regrets and guilt to Gong Chan's (Hwang In Yeop) past. She visited Choi Tae Guk at the TK Law Firm and told the story of how Kang Eun Seo's (Han Seon Hwa) and Jeon Na Jung's death are connected.

Tae Guk, on the other hand, seemed shocked. In defense, the chairman revealed an unbelievable fact about Choi Jae Yi (Han Ju Hyun).

Baek Jin Ki (Kim Chang Wan) confessed that he received the money in exchange for introducing an illegal loan broker to a savings bank representative, to whom Choi Tae Guk has connections.

Oh Soo Jae turned hard on his confession but later on found out that Yoon Se Pil (Choi Young Jun) was close to Baek Jin Ki and had the same goal of bringing Choi Tae Guk down. Though she agreed to form an alliance with the two, Soo Jae said to Jin Ki that he still needed to pay the price for what he did.
Oh Soo Jae Apologizes to Gong Chan
After she overheard Choi Sang Yoon (Bae In Hyuk) and Gong Chan's conversation, the female lawyer tried to reach out to Gong Chan. She felt sorry for abandoning him and having no courage to face him.

But instead of getting mad, Gong Chan comforted Oh Soo Jae. He stated that he also made mistakes and lied about being Kim Dong Gu. Knowing that they were in the same situation, the student convinced her to do it together.
In addition, Gong Chan spoke more comforting words to persuade the lawyer to track down the people that messed up their lives.
