‘Golden Spoon’ Episode 1: Yook Sung Jae Tries To Change His Fate After Experiencing Betrayal
In "Golden Spoon" episode 1, due to his desire to become rich, Lee Seung Chun (Yook Sung Jae) tries to change his fate through the golden spoon he acquired from the mysterious old lady.
'Golden Spoon' Episode 1: Lee Seung Chun's Hardships in School
As he was born into a poor family, Lee Seung Chun always got bullied in school by his classmates. Despite the hardships, he managed to work part-time and lived fiercely to survive. One day, he discovered that his friend Park Jinseok (Shin Joo Hyup) and his family suffered from hardships, and took their own lives.

Seung Chun grieved at the death of his friend. Though it was hard for him, the male student continued to work and earn money to support himself.
The following day, Na Ju Hee (Jung Chae Yeon) came to the convenience store where Seung Cheon worked part-time and began her first day at work.
Lee Seung Chun Meets Mysterious Old Lady and Offers Him the Golden Spoon
Hwang Tae Yong (Lee Jong Won) is the son of the richest family in Korea - and the successor of the Doshin group, who is envied by everyone. He is afraid of his coercive father, Hwang Hyeon Do (Choi Won Young).
He was an avid fan of Seung Chun's father, Lee Cheol (Choi Dae Cheol), an aspiring webtoon writer. Reading his works gives him comfort.
Meanwhile, Lee Seung Chun met an old mysterious lady (Song Ok Sook) who sells suspicious things at a stall. She offered him the golden spoon and explained that if he goes to the house of a person who is also his age and eats with the golden spoon three times, their lives can switch in an instant.
At first, he doubted the old lady but later on bought the item and approached Tae Yong on purpose, and started eating at his house.
Hwang Tae Yong Betrays Lee Seung Chun
Tae Yong, who had a strong desire to be recognized by his father, sought help from Seung Chun and wrote company reports on his behalf. He pays him for every proposal made. Unfortunately, Tae Yong's father found out what he did and asked him to handle the situation on his own.

As a result, Seung Chun got caught up in Tae Yong's conspiracy and accused of extorting money. He was in danger of being expelled from school.
Lee Seung Chun's father begged for forgiveness and asked not to expel his son from school as he needs to go to college soon.
Lee Seung Chun Wants Revenge Against Hwang Tae Yong
Due to this, Seung Chun confronted Tae Yong and was able to record their conversation to use as proof that Tae Yong lied about the conspiracy. However, the two fought near the river. Seung Chun fell into the water. Tae Yong tried to save him but decided to abandon him.

As he wants to experience comfort and stability in life, he remembered the advice he got from the mysterious lady about the golden spoon. He managed to come to his senses and stormed into Tae Yong's house and asked for a meal as his last request.
