The feel-good K-drama is a 12-part episode series that depicts the journey of a Seoul-based veterinarian Han Ji Yul (Choo Young Woo) as he temporarily lives in the countryside of Heedong village.
As he struggles to fit in, his childhood friend and local officer Ahn Ja Young (Red Velvet's Joy) helped him to adapt to the slow-paced life in the countryside.
However, due to their closeness, her best friend Lee Sang Hyun (Baek Sung Chul) gets jealous and protects her as if he is her big brother.

'Once Upon A Small Town' Episode 10
The situation between the trio is getting clearer as Ahn Ja Young addresses her feelings between Lee Sang Hyun and Han Ji Yul.
"Once Upon a Small Town" episode 10 continues where Ahn Ja Young saw Han Ji Yul's ex-girlfriend expressing her feelings towards him and thought that they might have gotten back.
However, instead of comforting her ex-girlfriend Choi Min, he followed Ahn Ja Young to explain things but she insisted that he didn't need to explain anything to her and left Han Ji Yul in the middle of the road.
As officer Ahn returns to her house, she is welcomed by Choi Min who has been waiting for her in the common area.
She asked her the real score between them but Ahn Ja Young said that she doesn't have feelings for Han Ji Yul but Choi Min said that she should clear it up for him as he gets mixed signals with Ahn Ja Young's actions.
Of course, we all know that Officer Ahn is saying this not to hurt Choi Min's feelings but she obviously likes Ji Yul.
As she weighs her feelings toward Han Ji Yul, Ah Ja Young has finally decided to give her answer to Lee Sang Hyun.
Although she cares about him very dearly, Ahn Ja Young confessed that her feelings are purely as friends and apologized for rejecting him.
Lee Sang Hyun admitted that he was hurt but knows how to accept Ahn Ja Young's decision. Moreover, he promised to be by her side no matter what.
In the latter part of "Once Upon a Small Town" episode 10, Ahn Ja Young admitted her feelings to Han Ji Yul.
It came after she learned that he will be leaving Heedong in 15 weeks and had to let him know how she truly feels.
