'True Beauty' Author Gives Update on the Webtoon
According to Yonhap on October 1, webtoon artist Yaongyi confirmed that she already finished completing her masterpiece, "True Beauty." The writer attended the Bucheon International Comics Festival and mentioned to her fans that she had a hard time doing the final episode of the story.
"True Beauty" was serialized in 2018 and eventually became popular in Korea and abroad.
As an update, the webtoon was already completed in September this year, which has a total of 223 chapters!

According to Yaongyi, the most touching part of the story for her was the episode in which cover makeup was applied to an aunt who had scars. The webtoon author said that the content was written at the beginning of the series, and many people around her were also moved by it.

Meanwhile, contrary to the original idea, Soo Jin was chosen as the villain character, which later on changed during the serialization.

Yaongyi added that the drawing style and story of "True Beauty" was refined little by little while checking the reactions of the readers. She explained that her drawing is different from the early days because she adjusted according to people's needs.
Is 'True Beauty' Drama Ready for Season 2?
Since the webtoon is already complete, many are anticipating whether the sequel for the drama is also in the works.
However, Yaongyi is yet to confirm if "True Beauty" Season 2 is ready for production, if the original cast will reprise their roles, and who are the new characters to be introduced in the possible second installment of the famous K-drama.

The author also shared that after finishing "True Beauty," she had a lot of ideas for her next work, but she's still deciding what kind of genre she will be doing soon.

On the other hand, "True Beauty" was adapted into a drama in 2020 which starred brilliant stars Moon Ga Young, Cha Eun Woo, and Hwang In Yeop.
