While some viewers enjoy the feel-good vibe of rom-com movies, others love the thrill and excitement brought by K-dramas that center around revenge and betrayals. 

Since 2020, various broadcast networks deliver a show-stopping series that deals with vengeance, power, and wealth. 

From the star-studded cast, and powerhouse leads, here are the recent K-dramas featuring revenge and betrayals. 

'Reborn Rich'

Based on the web novel "The Youngest Son of a Conglomerate," "Rebirnb Rich" stars Lee Sung Min, Song Joong Ki, and Shin Hyun Bin.

It follows the story of Soongyang Group's loyal employee who was murdered by one of the company's officials despite his willingness to do everything for the conglomerate. 

However, he was mysteriously reborn as the third-generation chaebol and the youngest grandson of Soonyang's founder.

With his new identity and life, he will take this as his opportunity to have his most awaited revenge by taking over the company. 

'The Penthouse'

One of the most watched and high-rating SBS dramas is "The Penthouse." 

First aired in June 2021, the drama series gained a positive response from the public and was extended till season 3. 

Headlined by Lee Ji Ah, Eugene, Uhm Ki Joon, and Kim So Yeon, the makjang series focuses on the residents of the Hera Palace and the battle for wealth and power. 

Apart from the parents, the kids are also involved in the adult's feud. As for the children, they are competing to see who among them will enter the prestigious school and become the future primadonna. 

'Remarriage and Desires'

The 8-part episode Netflix series stars Kim Hee Sun as the revenge-driven widow named Seo Hye Seung. 

She was forced to enter an elite matchmaking agency to meet the woman whom she believed was the reason behind her husband's death. 

However, during her revenge journey, she unexpectedly gets reunited with her past. 

Apart from revenge, the Netflix series tackles marital issues like infidelity and divorce. 

In "Remarriage and Desires," Kim Hee Sun is joined by Lee Hyun Wook, Jung Eugene, Park Hoon, and Cha Ji Yeon. 

'The World of the Married'

Released in 2020, "The World of the Married" is a remake of the British TV series "Doctor Foster."

It stars Kim Hee Ae, Park Hae Joon, and the-the rookie actress Han So Hee. 

The 16-part smash hit K-drama centers around the dotting wife and mother with a cheating husband. 

Kim Hee Ae took the role of Ji Sun Woo, a doctor who is married to a budding producer Lee Tae Oh played by Park Hae Joon. 

Their married life crashed after her husband met the young and beautiful Yeo da Kyung, played by Han So Hee. 

'Eve' 

One of the controversial K-dramas this 2022 is the tvN series "Eve."

Starring Seo Ye Ji as the revenge driven Lee Ra El, she returned to avenge her father who died after being killed by a chaebol family. 

Joining her are Lee Byung Hun and Yoo Sun as the lead stars.

'Mine' 

Last but not least is the 2021 tvN series "Mine."

Starring Kim Seo Hyung, Lee Bo Young, and Ok Ja Yeon, the drama series depicts the story of ambitious yet strong women who conquered the world's prejudices in order to find their true selves.

Moreover, "Mine" also illustrates the highs and lows of living an elite lifestyle.
