'Summer Strike' Episode 5: Lee Yeo Reum Finds New Job In Angok

In episode 5, Lee Yeo Reum (Seolhyun) and Ahn Dae Beom (Im Siwan) grow closer together. With the help of the latter, Lee Yeo Reum is able to apply to the county office magazine as a writer.

The two roam the village together to interview the elders. Lee Yeo Reum is beautifully dressed as usual, attracting attention.

In one of the houses, Ahn Dae Beom discovers that the bathroom light was out and secretly fixes it, which surprises Lee Yeo Reum.

She also learns that Ahn Dae Beom is naturally kind and that even the children in the village love him. Because of this, Lee Yeo Reum warms up to him even more.

Elsewhere, Jo Ji Young (Park Ye Young) spends time with Lee Yeo Reum and talks about Ahn Dae Beom. It is revealed that he is a genius who will go places instead of staying in Angok as a librarian.

They also talk about Kim Bom (Shin Eun Soo), who left a cold impression on her during her first day in Angok.

Like Ahn Dae Beom, Kim Bom has specific goals in life. But because of people's standards and expectations, she got sick of it.

Lee Yeo Reum Learns More About Ahn Dae Beom's Past

On the other hand, Ahn Dae Beom's painful past is revealed. According to Jo Ji Young, Ahn Dae Beom's family died when he was young.

Ahn Dae Beom has witnessed the death of his older sister at the billiard room where Lee Yeo Reum currently resides. When their parents learned about this, his mother couldn't take it and also sacrificed her own life.

With this, Ahn Dae Beom learned to be content alone and live by himself, with the pain engraved in his heart. Lee Yeo Reum's heart swells and sympathizes for Ahn Dae Beom, whom she hated on the first day of her moving.
