Did You Know? Lee Sung Min’s House in ‘Reborn Rich’ is Dubbed as the ‘Local Blue House’ – Here’s Why
Besides the spectacular cast lineup and storyline, one of the amazing features in Song Joong Ki's drama "Reborn Rich" is the series' location.
In the 16-episode series, Soonyang Group founder Jin Yang Chul, played by Lee Sung Min, resides in a vast villa that they call the "Jeongsimjae," which translates to "rightful heart."
Jin Yang Chul is joined by his wife Lee Pil Ok, played by Kim Hyun, and Jin Sung Joon's (Kim Nam Hee) wife Mo Hyun Bin (Park Ji Hyun).
There's no doubt why the said location and the official residence of the Soonyang Chairman are gaining the attention. However, did you know that the drama's Jeongsimjae is called the local blue house?
Lee Sung Min's Residence in 'Reborn Rich' Named as 'Local Blue House'
In a report, Busan City and Busan Ilbo cited that Song Joong Ki's drama was filmed against the background of the official residence in Namcheon-dong, Suyeong-gu, Busan, or at the event venue held by Busan City.
Several significant scenes were taken at the said location, it includes Jin Do Joon (Song Joong Ki) unexpectedly meeting his uncle Choi Chang Je who is about to talk to Chairmain Jin regarding his mayoral candidacy.
Interestingly, the said location is the former Busan Mayor's residence and was built as a presidential villa during the Fifth Republic in 1985.
At the time, 4.157 billion won was invested to create a stunning and luxurious villa. With 18,015 square meters and a total floor area of 2,437 square meters.
According to the outlet, the director is looking for a residence perfect for a chaebol family and suited for the 1980s and 1990s.

Interestingly, Kim Seon Gi, the location manager of the Busan Film Commission, tells Busan Ilbo, how the production reached out to them asking about the presidential villa.
"I know that the production team traveled around the country looking for a place suitable for Jeongsimjae," he said, adding, "I heard that the movement from the gate to the entrance of the residence matched the director's idea of Jeongsimjae."
Prior to "Reborn Rich" transforming it as the chairman's residence, the luxurious villa has been vacant since 2020 after the resignation of former Mayor Oh Geo Don. On the other his successor, Mayor Park Hyung Joon has decided not to move into the residence.
"Reborn Rich" was not the only first series that get to feature the presidential villa. In the same report, Busan Film Commission shared that there are four movies and dramas filmed at the Busan Mayor's residence between 2021 and 2022 alone.
From 2007 to 2020, there have been 7 filmed works, and two projects booked for 2023.
What to Expect in 'Reborn Rich' Finale?
With only two episodes left, viewers are eager to witness how Jin Do Joon (Song Joong Ki) will succeed in his revenge.
In addition, fans are looking forward if the series will have the same ending as the web novel.
To recall, "Reborn Rich" is based on the popular web novel "The Youngest Son of a Conglomerate" by San Gyung and is now one of the beloved K-dramas of 2022.
