‘Single’s Inferno 2’: Did Second Season Fail to Surpass Season 1’s Popularity?

"Single's Inferno 2" instantly became a trending topic online after airing the finale episodes.

On Twitter, #SinglesInferno2 was among the most talked about the subject along with Golden Globes and BLACKPINK's Coachella appearance.

However, some see that it didn't garner the same response as the first season.

In one media outlet, the report pointed out that "Single's Inferno 2" cast boasts an impressive lineup of participants with amazing visuals and remarkable backgrounds.

For one, fan-favorite Lee Nadine is an undergraduate student at Harvard University, concentrating in Neuroscience and a secondary in Computer Science, while another favorite Kim Jin Young used to be a soldier under UDT or the underwater demolition team or seal team in the Korean military.

Why 'Single's Inferno 2' Didn't Reach Same Sucess as First Season

During the first few episodes of "Single's Inferno 2," the show managed to enter Netflix's top 10 TV shows, along with Song Hye Kyo's "The Glory" and "Alchemy of Souls 2."

However, during the finale episode, the reality dating show's second season failed to enter the daily rankings.

One thing that the media outlet pointed out was how both seasons almost have the same format and the only difference was the cast.

Moreover, season 2 also featured the same wrestling challenge where male participants should be the last man standing inside the pit to win the game.

On top of it, the Netflix show seemed to feature a similar location to season 1.

"Both Inferno and Paradise were the same places," the reads.

Due to this, the viewer might feel a little tired watching the same show with a difefrent cast.

To recall, Netflix promised a bolder and more dramatic season for the audience, causing the public to raise expectations in the second season.

'Single's Inferno Season 2' Highlights

With the show wrapping up with 10 episodes, "Single's Inferno 2" showcased a series of remarkable scenes that got viewers hooked.

In the first few episodes, Inferno welcomed a super hot newcomer through Kim Jin Young.

The said episode also featured its first challenge for male contestants, leaving Jin Young the winner.

Interestingly, he made girls swoon over his charm and strength, one of which is Shin Seul Ki.

In mid-way of the reality show, two newcomers entered Inferno. It's Kim Se Jun and Lim Min Su.

The latter invited Jin Young to the island while Se Jun surprisingly picked Lee So E, making everyone stunned since they thought that Park Se Jeong might be his type.

On the way to Paradise, viewers praised how gentlemanly Se Jun is, especially when he took care of So E during their flight. 

Adding to the list of the show's highlights is Lee Nadine's credentials, with some pointing out that she is "too perfect" for the male participants.
