The complete list of nominees for the 2014 Grammy Awards has been released and the names announced Friday evening, Dec 6 was a surprise both for the ones nominated and snubbed in many categories.
Beyonce’s husband, Jay Z leads the nomination with 9 nods. The award giving body had left out Kanye West’s “Yeezus” album and Justin Timberlake was never nominated in any category - - a big surprise for the Social Network star after going home real big at the American Music Awards 2014.
New artists have made the cut this year including Bruno Mars, Lorde and Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis who get seven nominations from the Grammys.
Aside from Justin Timberlake and Kanye West, Lady Gaga’s ARTPOP is also one of the big snubs at the Grammys 2014. Bob Ludwig was nominated in five categories and Taylor Swift got four bids.
Jay Z is nominated for “Rap Album of the Year” and he and Drake are facing strong contenders for the top award.
The 56th Grammy Awards will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on January 26, 2014. It will be aired on CBS at 8p.m. ET/P. Pink has been named as one of the performers but no details have been released as to who the host will be at this year’s Grammys.
