Lee Min Ho took the opportunity to thank everyone especially the supporters of the Apple TV+ series "Pachinko."

The Hallyu star accepted the award after the 8-part episode TV show won at the American Film Independent Spirit Awards 2023. 

'Pachinko' Wins Best Ensemble Cast at the 2023 American Film Independent Spirit Awards

Held in Santa Monica, California, USA hosted by the returning MC Jimmy Kimmel, "Pachinko" is among the shows who bagged a prestigious award at the annual ceremony. 

At the 38th Film Independent Spirit Awards the novel-based series was honored with the Best Ensemble Cast in a New Scripted Series. 

Although the actor is currently filming the series' sequel in Canada, Lee Min Ho accepted the award through a video along with cast members Kim Min Ha, veteran actress Youn Yuh Jung and South Korean-born American actor Jin Ha. 

Through a video, the top star expressed his gratitude to the team and viewers who showed their support for "Pachinko."

In addition, he also sincerely thanked the organization for giving him "such a meaningful award."

Interestingly, Lee Min Ho went on to update the audience on how the second season is going. 

"We are filming season 2 hard in Canada. Please look forward to season 2 as well," he said, adding "It is an honor to be able to win the award, and I would like to express my gratitude to the many people who supported me."

Apart from the series' achievement at the 2023 American Film Independent Spirits Awards, "Pachinko" also bagged numerous awards including the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Foreign Language Series, the 2022 Gotham Independent Film Award for Breakthrough Series, and more.

The novel-based series depicts the story of forbidden love and an unforgettable chronicle of war and peace, parting and victory, and judgment throughout generations of Korean immigrants who moved to Japan amid the war. 

In the drama, Lee Min Ho plays Ko Hansu, a native of Korea, who is born on the island of Jeju and moved to Osaka, Japan during the country's tumultuous times. 

He then briefly returns to Korea as a businessman and unexpectedly meets Sunja, played by Kim Min Ha.

As mentioned, Lee Min Ho and the "Pachinko" cast are gearing up for the premiere of the second season. 

However, as of this writing, officials and representatives are yet to confirm the target release of the series. 

Interestingly, Lee Min Ho will also be headlining an interesting project with Gong Hyo Jin for the rom-com "Ask the Stars."

The top star will transform as OB-GYNE Gong Ryong, who joined the space expedition as guest, which was led by the American-Korean astronaut Eve Kim, played by Gong Hyo Jin.
