‘The Glory’ Director Denies Bullying Accusations – Here’s What He Says

"The Glory" Director Ahn Gil Ho has responded to accusations about bullying and school violence issues. 

On the premiere day of the K-drama's season 2, which stars Song Hye Kyo, Lee Do Hyun, and Im Ji Jeon, the filmmaker is hit with allegations regarding his past.

A post has been spreading in online communities saying that Ahn Gil Ho was a perpetrator back in high school. 

The uploader, referred to as A, revealed the reason for exposing the director now. 

He explained that he is unaware that he is working as a director because he is not familiar with K-dramas. However, due to the popularity of "The Glory" and through the group chat with his former classmates, the person learned that Ahn Go Hil was behind Song Hye Kyo's drama.

The uploader then pointed out that revealing his past would raise awareness about bullying which happened to be the focus of the series. 

"I've come to reveal this as it's absurd and unforgivable for a school bully to direct a program like 'The Glory' that is meant to raise awareness about school violence," he said. 

As his post continues, A detailed his experience with the director which dates back to 1996 in the Philippines.

Ahn Gil Ho, who at the time is a third-year high school student at an international school is dating B, a second-year high school student whom A and his friends would tease. 

Although they are from different schools, Ahn Gil Ho reportedly summoned A and his friends. Moreover, the director also assaulted and threatened them. 

A also recalled that a group of Ahn Gil Ho's friends would beat which latest for 2 hours. 

Before copncluding his statement, he reveasled the reason for exposing Ahn Gil Ho's past. 

He said that he wanted justice and even left a warning to "The Glory" director. 

"If Ahn Gil Ho denies [these allegations], the other friends who were also summoned have said they would testify with me. If he denies and wants to take legal action, I too will respond actively," A said in a post.

Immediately after the accusations made it to the headlines, "The Glory" director broke his silence and responded to the claims. 

As obtained a by news portal, Ahn Gil Ho briefly commented and denies the allegation against him. 

First, he confirmed that he did study in the Philippines but didn't recall hurting anyone. 

"No matter how much I think about it, I don't remember hitting anyone in a group," he tells Yonhap News. 

As for Netflix, the streaming giant firmly said that the "The Glory" season 2 release date will not be affected and will "release it as scheduled."

On March 10, the Song Hye Kyo K-drama was released at 5 pm, making it a trending topic on Twitter.
