"Bloodhounds" continues to pique the interest of global viewers after showing impressive performances since its premiere.

The webtoon based K-drama, which stars Woo Do Hwan and Lee Sang Yi, has been gaining the attention of the public and media since its debut on June 9.

Through this, "Bloodhounds" immediately entered the top 10 TV shows on Netflix and has been dominating the rankings since.

'Bloodhounds' Ranks First in 22 Countries

According to streaming data aggregator platform Flix Patrol, "Bloodhounds" scored the top spot in the June 15 rankings, making it the most watched TV show on Netflix worldwide.

Currently, the 8-part episode K-drama surpassed fellow Korean shows such as "The Good Bad Mother," starring Lee Do Hyun and Ra Mi Ran, and the hit series "Doctor Cha," headlined by Uhm Jung Hwa and Kim Byung Chul.

In addition, "Bloodhounds" also ended the reign of the American comedy drama series "Never Have I Ever" in first place.

Meanwhile, the hit action-crime K-drama ranked first in 22 countries. Besides fellow Asian countries like Japan, Myanmar, the Phillipines, Singapore, and South Korea, the Woo Do Hwan and Lee Sang Yi-led series also took the top spot in France, Qatar, Turkey, Kuwait, and more.

Interestingly, the series was able to surpass the setback it faced. From changes with lead stars to Kim Sae Ron's controversy.

'Bloodhounds' Initially Cast Lee Do Hyun and Kwa Dong Yeon as Lead Stars

Prior to the confirmation of Woo Do Hwan and Lee Sang Yi's team-up, "Bloodhounds" initially selected Lee Do Hyun and Kwak Dong Yeon to play Kim Gun Woo and Hong Woo Jin.

However, due to conflict with the production team, the duo declined the offer.

Thankfully, the casting team thought of getting Woo Do Hwan, who at the time was still in the military after his enlistment.

As soon as he was discharged in 2022, the team, with director Jason Kim, began filming the series.

Why 'Bloodhounds' is Worth the Watch?

Based on the webtoon of the same name, "Bloodhounds" is directed by Jason Kim, of hit movies like "Midnight Runners" and "The Divine Fury."

The series revolved around two amateur boxers named Kim Gun Woo (Woo Do Hwan) and Hong Woo Jin (Lee Sang Yi).

Unfortunately, due to Gun Woo's mother and her debt with the loan shark, the two get intertwined with the evil boss Kim Myung Gil, played by Park Sung Woong.

Thankfully, they were able to cross paths with President Choi, portrayed by Heo Joon Ho, who has a special mission for the two, and that is to provide for the safety of his granddaughter in return for paying off Gun Woo's mother's debt.

The viewers witnessed amazing chemistry between the cast, especially with Woo Do Hwan and Lee Sang Yi.

On top of it, "Bloodhounds" delivered a series of show-stopping action scenes between the duo and the oan sharks.

Given this, there's no doubt why the action-crime K-drama landed on Netflix's top 10 TV shows.
